Assessment of management of fracture neck of femur with internal fixation alone or with fibular graft

Background: Intracapsular femoral neck fractures are commonly seen in the elderly population after a trivial fall. The present study was conducted to assess management of fracture femur with internal fixation alone or fibular strut graft. Materials & Methods: 52 patients treated by close / open reduction and using cannulated cancellous screws along graft both genders were enrolled. Parameters such as mode injury, range movement complications recorded. Results: Out patients, males 32 females 20. Mode accident RTA 28, fall 16 domestic violence 8 cases. Range motion flexion > 100 degrees 40 < 12 Extension 10 38 14 Abduction 25 44 Complications observed swelling four, shortening affected limb two superficial infection case. Conclusion: Management screw is reliable method fixation.
